ALL PROCEEDS GO TO CANCER FOUNDATION

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?????

The theme for the night is "PINK".  So that means you need to dress in something pink - some of us will be in our pink PJ's - so feel free to join us OR perhaps you would just like to wear a pink bow - it doesn't matter.

CHALLENGE:   OK - the challenge has been set if you choose to join in.

You will need to decorate/alter a pair or bras.  Maybe you have an old one sitting around or you could always pick one up at an Op Shop.  It doesn't matter.  You can cover it with flowers, punches, die-cuts, brads, bling - whatever takes your fancy.  As an added challenge - if you can wear it on the outside of your clothes that would be great.  We will have a mini fashion parade to show off our creations.

There will also be games and giveaways.

All in the name of fun - all for cancer research.

Please ring the shop to secure your spot.  Be quick - this is going to book fast!!!!!!

WORLD CARD MAKING DAY

Today we celebrated "World Card Making Day" at Scrapbook Lady.  As the name suggests, cardmakers all over the world join in the fun of making cards.(We were actually a day earlier due to the football Grand Final tomorrow.)

We had 12 ladies join in the fun - the day started off with creating a name badge just using scraps of patterned paper and cardstock along with punches and lots of other goodies.

We made a couple of cards and then it was time for a game - just for fun.

Lunch was up next - everyone brought a plate of food to share so we all sat around and chatted - it was lovely.

After lunch we completed a few more cards and some more games.  It was such a peaceful day and it was very rewarding to see the look on every one's faces as they could see their handy work.

To finish the day off we had an extra little challenge.  It was a sketch challenge using scraps from the workshop scrap box..  It's amazing how many different ideas you can come up with.  Here are a few of the samples -

Well done to all the girls and thank you for joining in the fun of such a special day.

Blog Challenge

Ok - feel like making a card?  Well all you need to do is look at this image and be inspired by it.

You might like to chose the colours, the design, or maybe the actual mugs - or all 3.  It doesn't matter.  The choice is yours.

You can send your entry via email or you can pop it into the shop.

If you have your own blog all  you need to do is upload your photo and copy and paste the link at the top of your page.  Then all you need to do is leave a comment to this post and a "link" to your blog.  If you are unsure of what to do give Sandie a ring at the shop.

(This post will reflect 30th September's date which enable the post to be at the top of the blog page until challenge is over.)

Good luck and happy creating.

Here are just a few sneak peaks of what's on offer.

WHAT'S NEW???

We have lots of bits and pieces arriving at the store - some of which are -

There's a real buzz about the place with people getting organized for Christmas - may seem early but if you can make some time somewhere - come in and have a look around - there's something for everyone in our Christmas section.

Seam Binding - have you heard of this????  If the answer is no, well then come on in and just have a look.  This is such a versatile ribbon - you can spritz it with water or even Glimmermist to give it a nice crinkly look.  It looks fantastic on cards, layouts and off the page projects.  We have these colours available and don't forget by adding the glimmermist that you can also change the colour.  You've gotta love that!!!

We have 2 words for you when it comes to 6 x 6 inch paper pads - BE QUICK!!!!!!!  These little bundles of patterned paper goodness are such good value.  You can do amazing things with such a small pad of paper.  PERFECT for card makers and for those off the page projects where you need co-ordinating papers.
Here is a beautiful set of drawers that one of our regular customers, Paula, decorated.  Great job Paula!!! We have several different sets of drawers available in the shop.  All you need to decorate them is some paint, glue, patterend paper and a sanding block/tools.  Our workshop area is always available to work on something like this - just give us a ring, secure you spot on one of our tables and create away.  We are always happy to help you with your colour selection and any assistance you may need. This type of project would make the perfect gift or why not make it for yourself.
